Small Prints is an add-in for selected trading platforms and available on a monthly subscription. You can also select to license it as part of emoji trading Order Flow Suite of 14 indicators.
Small Prints tracks Aggression and Exhaustion conditions by looking for a lack of traded volume.
As aggressive volume trades at market it may not necessarily be highlighted as an order flow bid/ask imbalance – imbalance percentage levels are of course arbitrary and who is to say that buying of 4x or 6x volume is necessarily significantly aggressive. Small Prints can identify when sufficient volume trades on one side of the market to prevent balanced trade occurring on the opposite side. By highlighting intra-bar volumes where nothing traded (zero prints), or an absolute (single prints or user-defined small prints) or relative (thin spot) measure of small volume traded, we can identify price levels of aggressive trade irrespective of bid/ask imbalance criteria.
In thicker markets, e.g. ES and CL, zero prints on longer term charts, e.g. 30 minute and daily can be relatively rare events and levels worth noting. They represent an unfilled gap. Small Prints enables visualization and tracking of such levels and in combination with the indicator’s EmojiZone visualizations in Dynamic mode you can maintain visibility of significant levels that occurred days or even months ago that have potential to act as intra-day exit targets or reversal levels.
During bar formation you can also use emoji Pullback Analysis to look for intra-bar aggression within the order flow as the market pulls back from the bar’s high or low and use this to make trading decisions that are independent of your chart’s timeframe and based purely on the tick-by-tick order flow occurring while the market retraces. Using Small Prints in this way can be an excellent continuation entry trigger for a pre-determined trade plan or to scale in to an existing trade.
A low volume of buying at the top of a bar or a low volume of selling at the bottom of a bar can be a clear sign of market exhaustion, literally the last buyer or seller. Combined with emoji Advanced Lookback Analysis you can highlight and track levels where the last buyer bought or the last seller sold and make trading decisions armed with the knowledge of price levels that demonstrate a lack of demand at higher prices and supply at lower prices.
